We have a commitment to continually striving to improve the quality of our setting both the environment and teaching. We follow quality improvement schemes which examine and help us to improve the way we do things. We constantly reflect on our practice and environment, setting action plans and evaluating every area of our pre-school. We believe in rewarding staff performance and keeping staff motivated to ensure we can retain our highly skilled, enthusiastic and reliable staff. We currently hold the following accreditations:
We gained Millie’s Mark in June 2016. This is an exceptional achievement showing we are going above and beyond in keeping children safe. We believe this is a fundamental accreditation for a childcare setting and means that we have 100% of staff trained in pediatric first aid. It provides reassurance to parents and carers that all staff is trained, up to date and confident in delivery first aid. We are very proud to be the first childcare setting in the London Borough of Bromley to achieve the mark and are still the only setting in the Bromley/Hayes area to have achieved this. We were also one of the first 100 settings in the whole of the UK to achieve the mark.
We achieved our Meningitis Awareness Recognition Mark in August 2018. As part of our commitment to promoting the health of our children and families, this was something that we were quick to achieve. This shows that all staff has an in-depth knowledge of the signs and symptoms of meningitis and that we promote knowledge including the importance of immunisation to our families through displays, signs, and literature.
Healthy Early Years London – Bronze Award
We achieved this November 2018 by completing an in-depth questionnaire and audit and reviewing all areas of our practice in relation to health, well-being, and nutrition. This is marked by an outside agency who then provide us with our certificate of achievement.
Food Hygiene Rating
We achieved our second 5-star food hygiene rating in July 2018 after undergoing a full inspection showing our commitment to promoting a healthy environment and helping to minimise the risk of illnesses.
NDNA Literacy Champions
We achieved our certification as a Literacy Champion setting in July 2018 from the National Day Nursery Association. This means that we surpass expectations in our provision of literacy and take this to a high level allowing children to be challenged, motivated and engaged in literacy in our setting.
We are working towards…
Healthy Early Years – Silver Award

- Defining Quality
- Reflective Practice & Critical Evaluation
- Developing a Quality Workforce

NDNA Maths Champions
We are enrolling on the maths champions accreditation to allow us to deliver the highest quality maths provision and create learning opportunities for all.
Since our opening in September 2015, we have been inspected by Ofsted once, in July 2017. We were happy to achieve our first inspection grading of good which can be found here. Following our inspection, we put together an action plan of what improvements could be made. We have since evaluated this practice and implemented this as an ongoing process. Ongoing reflection is part of our everyday practice and enables us to strive to constantly improve and adjust to our current children and families needs.
