Our pre-school children are guided and nurtured by our motivated and passionate practitioners on their last stepping stone towards primary school. We aim to achieve a natural balance between adult and child initiated activities. Practitioners are extremely competent in scaffolding children’s learning and supporting them to become inquisitive independent and confident learners. Our pre-school children are able to explore and engage in activities in all areas of the setting throughout the day choosing what and where they wish to learn.

The 7 areas of learning – Communication and Language, Personal Social and Emotional Development, Physical Development, Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World and Expressive Arts and Design run through every area of our room giving children the opportunity to participate and develop skills in all areas. Our pre-school children are encouraged to give their views and opinions and are asked to evaluate our provision on a daily basis.

Children are encouraged to be at the heart of our planning and understand that their views and thoughts are heard, understood and appreciated. Our pre-school children are encouraged to self-regulate through the cooperation of respect and understanding of boundaries and rules. Our children are encouraged to take calculated risks and recognise the importance of self-care.
